Lake District Holiday Cottage | Wasdale Self Catering Cottage

Situated only a 5 minute walk from Church Stile.  Irt cottage is a traditional Lakeland cottage standing in generous gardens and set in an idyllic location bordered by natural woodland and the river Irt. Situated in the heart of the iconic Wasdale valley in the Lake District National Park the holiday cottage offers the perfect base from which to enjoy and explore the surroundings.

Adjacent to the cottage is the wonderful Sawmill Farm Shop & Cafe set on the banks of the river with working waterwheel.  The Sawmill is open 6 days per week Weds-Mon offering a fantastic selection of local gifts and produce.  Although the cafe closes at 430pm, the kitchen stops serving food at 3pm. 

The lovely village of Nether Wasdale with its church and 2 country pubs is only a short walk while the village of Gosforth is nearby. England's deepest lake, Wastwater, is less than a mile and just beyond the lake lies England's highest mountain Scafell.

The holiday cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people and briefly comprises  2 double bedrooms, 1 twin room, bathroom with bath, shower & WC upstairs, while downstairs there is a generous kitchen, dining room, lounge, snug, a further WC and shower room and a boot room with washing machine. Log burning stoves in the lounge and dining room together with central heating throughout ensure that whatever the time of year and weather, Irt cottage offers a warm and cosy base.
